Dancing in the fog, oh what a sightWearing a vejigante suit at night
For the spirit in the foggy air
With no one around, not even a scare
The drum beats in my chest so loud
As I twirl and spin, I feel so proud
Of the culture and tradition I hold dear
Even when no one else is near
The mask hides my face but not my joy
As I celebrate and dance, oh boy!
With each step, I honor the spirits of old
And the stories that have been told
The fog envelops me, surrounding me whole
As I dance for the spirit and let my heart unfold
At 3:00 AM, when the world is still
I dance to feel alive and fulfill
This moment may pass, but the memory stays
Of dancing in the foggy night in a mystical haze
Of expressing my culture and feeling free
Of being true to myself, just like me.
