Wow, that's creepy to think about. Even without the words in it.
And I always look at your art, even if I don't always comment. They sorta get lost in the giant comment sea.

Am I the only guy on this site speaking on behalf of reason?
This is an awesome piece of artwork, but the ideas are fundamentally flawed and/or unrelated to the warming. Fear does not equate to truth, no matter how easy it is to want to believe it.

I never said I was afraid but, it is true. If mankind continues with the pollution and everything else that we're doing, then we may not make it in the next 50 years or so.

Don't misunderstand me. I said "Fear does not equate to truth." I was referring to your imagery and tactics used to convey your message. You're you're not trying to scare someone, then what ARE you doing?
As for the 50 years thing, when exactly did that 50 years start? Did it start yesterday? Did it start 5 years ago when we were told the same thing? 10 years ago when the Discovery Channel gave a report (actually, they said 20 years if I recall). What about in the 1970's when we were told we had only 50 years until our oceans dried up due to GLOBAL COOLING? (Time Magazene ran a feature on it)

Might want to watch your facts there...
1. The billowy clouds from the big nuclear towers is STEAM. Evaporated water. It is the SMALL towers, the ones they scrub for pollutants, that you should be focusing on.
2. Deserts are naturally hot. The fact that equatorial desert temperatures have decreased in the last few years should interest you. That, and animals leave bones when they die with or without the effects of global warming.
3. Ice flows melt and break off naturally and seasonally. Don't worry, Polar Bears are known to swim great distances without a hitch.
Your client seems to want to use fear instead of facts to convey his message. Your artwork is incredible, even if I must disagree with the finished product. Keep them coming!

hahahahah man Im sure you are right! But these are simbolic views, classic images of what is related with the global warming and the greenhouse effect: polution, Co2, , glacier retreat, , desertization, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors. Its done for all kinds of public and ages...you know, when I see Star Wars Im not saying: "Spaceships lasers?!!Hey!! In space theres no air and of course, theres no sound!!"

bwritter In reply to Javas [2007-05-29 16:59:55 +0000 UTC]
I don't understand your analogy. Starwars is a work of fiction, enjoyable via the suspension of disbelief. Global Warming is debated FOR its science and nature. Our congress doesn't waste half a billion per year on researching and debating Star Wars, no matter how many ways in which it can be symbolized.

what Im trying to explain is that I used archetypical images of global warming for a better understanding of the story (cause its for all ages), not caring about if that specifical nuclear chimneys are the correct ones or not. Its not about using fear and apocaliptic messages for scaring people. And according to the comments received, people did understand it really good. Yeh, I guess you didnt understand the analogy.

"Its not about using fear and apocaliptic messages for scaring people. And according to the comments received, people did understand it really good."
Really? Let's just see exactly what your viewers "better understood" from your archetypical imagery...
"Awe it's kind of sad..."
"I did, it's really sad, we need to stop using/burning fossil fuels...it's creating too much CO2 which is causing the global warming...poor glaciers.Did you know that polar bears are dying because they're drowning from the melted ice?"
"If we keep it up, we'll be seeing mastadons again."
"Really great way of show to world the result of global warming ..."
"The world needs to open their eyes and find a way to stop killing this planet at such an alarming rate."
"it's awesome but... aww i don't want imagine the planet without polar bear (i know, not a really link with your pic but ... )"
"Wow, that's creepy to think about. Even without the words in it."
Do not sit there and claim your "archetypical imagery" is anything less than misguided, misinformed fear-based attacks against your peers.

;XD: ok dude I know you learned a lot in the school and viewing Al Gore documentary but everyone has their own opinion, and you gotta respect them all, even when you think that you have the absolute truth in your hand. I understand your point, and I do respect it, really, I dont care if you are right or not, I just want people to tell me if they like the artwork and what they think about this topic, and I got yours. And again, this is not an essay of global warming, just using some images according to the topic (gases, desertization, glacier retreat, etc), no more. You took this seriously mate!

bwritter In reply to Javas [2007-05-30 04:06:42 +0000 UTC]
Of course I took it seriously. No matter how you wish to downplay it, your art speaks for your own convictions. Honestly, I found it insulting, and I am unappalogetic about our little discussion over it.
"...but everyone has their own opinion, and you gotta respect them all, even when you think that you have the absolute truth in your hand."
And you're right, but you must understand I'm a little defensive when that's the exact opposite of what I get from supporters of global warming. They say the votes are in, and that there is no debate, and blah blah blah... But there can be no consensus in science.

yeah thats totally right man. It was very interesting our little debate anyway. Its great receiving comments like yours and testing all kind of opinions. (BTW in this case, art speaks for customers convictions, no mines). Keep it up buddy, it was a real pleasure talking with you!

You should watch the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore!
It's a nice movie about it.

Oh, I have. Besides watching it for myself the first time, I've been forced to sit through it twice during my college classes.
The difference between the two of us is that I've watched both sides of the argument and made my decision for myself. You should watch the BBC documentary "Great Global Warming Swindle," and Glenn Beck's special "Exposed: A Climate of Fear."
They are nice movies about it.

Uunfortuanently we as a whole (that is humanity) love to blow all of our effects on everything way out of porportions. This warming is natural, and has been going on since time began. HOWEVER, that does not mean we should stop going "green" or reduce pollution. Just don't do it under the guise of an apacalyptic scenario, and with a one world tax
Nice picture I love it as always
