Hey mates!Fanart of Princess Mononoke, the masterpiece from the genius Hayao Miyazaki. I could spend the whole day writing about why I love his work so much, but I think that the best way to express my admiration is just doing a piece dedicated to his fantastic work.
This is my first night coloring, so I found it harder than usual. I also dedicated much more time to the BG. I think it came out pretty good.

I can't say why this picture is so satisfying.. tho I do enjoy how the crisp cel-shaded foreground and soft painted background and 'widescreen' effect give it a very animated feel. Though it's a still scene I half-expect them to start moving around!
I'm not sure if you're looking for critique, if you're not please feel free to ignore this. But I wanted to point out that the lines around her shoulder and elbow make it look like she's got some kind of.. flesh-colored shell on? I'm not sure.
