When SpookSong was young CometBlitz was the dealer of their mother, SugarHoof. Due to the many times Spook was sent to fetch their mother's fix Comet became quite close to the foal. It got to the point where Comet and his boyfriend, FizzyPop, had all but legally adopted Spook. The foal would spend weeks at their home and was taught how to fly and bake, they still refer to Comet and Fizzy as their dads, despite never being actually adopted by them. They were the first positive role models in Spook's life until much later. If SpookSong had never been accepted into Zenith Academy and had stayed with Comet and Fizzy they would have never become a baker with their sibling, ToffeeSwirl.
