The Doctors Assistant Au.
An Au I came up with and is actually really happy with, and I might either turn into a comic or just write a fic for, not sure which one I want to do at the moment.
And yes I did take some design choices from the Archie Sonic Future comics.
Tails never meet Sonic when he was younger, instead Eggman found him and made him his assistant. Tails doesn't care to much about world domination, he just wants to build cool inventions/robots and take revenge on those who bullied him.
This tails is a more skilled fighter, as he regularly trains with Metal. Though that did lead to an accident, that left Tails arms scarred. He also has a chip in his ear thanks to an accident involving Amy.
Tails and Sonic are frenemies. While the two can hold a conversation, Tails won't let the blue blur stop him from taking his revenge.
