First I sketched it in colored pencil, then added black Uniball pen (that part took the longest), erased the pencil and added Daniel Smith watercolors. I used a nice thick watercolor paper as well. Thanks for your comment!

This is such a wonderful piece of art and you really did the photo justice! I think this is exactly what Merida would look like in a more realistic style! I really love the way you colored the skin, with that little hint of pink in her cheeks and the light dusting of freckles across her nose. The hair is just magnificent! I can only imagine that such detail must have taken a very long time. Each curl is so beautifully defined. I adore the big expressive eyes as well! Bravo on a fantastic drawing!

The drawing and inking took almost an entire day! Then I spent another day on the painting, but it didn't take quite as long!
