Description
Finally got around to drawing a boy character from Puyo Pop, starting with Sig as he appears in Puyo Puyo Tetris (so for those of you only familiar with the series through my drawings of it, no, it isn't some kind of "bishojo game"). Sig first appears in Puyo Puyo Fever 2, as a new student to Primp Magic School. You've probably noticed that one of his hands is red (as well as one of his eyes); that's because Sig is a half-demon, bearing the neutral half of a powerful demon that once terrorized the Puyo World (the other, more malevolent half is sealed within the book Klug always carries around with him). No worries though, Sig isn't evil, he's actually one of the main protagonists! Emotionally mute, Sig acts passively towards everything and always seems as if he's bored, but he does have a hobby of collecting bugs. He's also really good friends with Amitie and apparently Klug as well. Sig's magic revolves around the color blue (cue the Earthbound Happy-Happism cult references), with spells such as Cyan, Cerulean, and Lapis Lazuli. Many characters in the series consider Sig to be very powerful and notice his magic potential; of course, he has no clue of his origins, but he doesn't seem all to concerned about finding out either. As always, I hope you guys like it!Sig is owned by SEGA/Sonic Team

He's pretty darn popular among Puyo fans; two-thirds of the ones I've seen say Sig is their favorite character! I can understand why, he's pretty cool, in a derpy sort of way I guess.

In Japan, he is known as "Ekoro", but English translations spell the name as "Ecolo". The former name is probably due to "Engrish" talk, but after playing a game called Mighty Gunvolt, I always refer to Ecolo by his translated name, since a character from "M.G." is named Ekoro as well (and is also a girl, so that was weird to me, since I learned about Puyo Pop before this game came out on the Nintendo eShop).

Oh! That's cool! I didn't know the English name, since I've always played the Puyo games in Japanese XP

Yeah, I learned that by reading up on the Puyo Nexus Wiki; the closest I've gotten to playing a game in the series is the fan game Puyo Puyo VS (if we don't count Kirby's Avalanche, which is what led to me becoming aware of the series in the first place)... I've been iffy about getting Japanese imports (partly because of region lock), but a friend of mine says the DS games won't be locked on a U.S. 3DS; so I dunno, maybe I might...

Blue, blue.
Cerulean.
Lapis-Lazuli.
Celestial.
Hydreangea.
Too much blue
That's a great work on Sig.

You brought this to yourself.
I don't understand why people like Sig so much. I don't hate the character, I just don't think he's someone to write home about. Then again, it might be something I don't see in him.

Three reasons that come to mind:
1. Just the idea that he is a half-demon whose origin is left in mystery leaves a lot of theorizing open for Sig, which fans who like to write fanfiction love doing!
2. His way of just being up for whatever; reminds me of that Fairly OddParents episode where the main character Timmy Turner wishes he had no emotions, except with Sig it's all the time (the episode in question was one of my favorites from that cartoon)!
3. The SigXAmitie pairing

1. That would be a bit more interesting if they expanded more on it's backstory, at least that's what I think.
2.I am like him, in a kinda-sorta way. Maybe it's because I wish to be more expressive, but I don't think his personality engages any curiosity, despite the similarities we share.
3. I still ship KlugXAmitie, but I understand why would people ship them.
