Description
This picture of Neptune was produced from images taken through the ultraviolet, violet and green filters of the Voyager 2 wide-angle camera, in order to paint clouds of different altitudes different colors. Deep-lying clouds are masked in the ultraviolet wavelength and appear dark blue. Conversely, clouds positioned at high altitudes are rendered as pinkish. To the naked eye they would also appear white.Credit: NASA
