8 sets; 7 chromosomes per set (strawberries have a haploid base, no diploid like us so not pairs)

Yeah, polyploidy has no theoretical end . I know some flowers are bred to be polyploidy to look nicer, so fruits might be similar
or it might just be some evolutionary-national-selection-type tactic

The amount of detail in this image is simply overwhelming - in the best way possible, that is!
I'm going to have to try that tutorial when I get my hands on my DSLR

You don't need a DSLR; if your camera has some macro mode, it works too.

My camera did have a rather decent macro mode, but sadly I left it on a train, so I have had to do without. It's tragic! But a superior replacement is winging its way to me

haah woa that's looks awesome!Great work with the detail! Uhm, what do you mean, sharpen the bubbles?

JeanFan In reply to raging-akujiki [2009-01-26 23:32:25 +0000 UTC]
In post editing, you can sharpen an image. Sharpening generally also enhances the edges such as the edges of bubbles. It makes them a bit brighter and better defined.

ohh cool. I think I've come across that option before, but I over did it. When you sharpen too much, the image becomes like grainy right?
