Description
A Deltadromeus cautiously watches a Spinosaurus wade through the swamps of Cenomanian North Africa.I based the sail design off of my somewhat speculative hypothesis that, as a decorative structure with limited functional significance, the sail (at least the dorsal portion) may be highly variable between species, thus the difference between, say, Ichthyovenator and Spinosaurus.
Deltadromeus--a probable bahariasaurid ceratosaur--is depicted with the scutes known in other ceratosaurs (Ceratosaurus, Carnotaurus) and feathers, which were both common and diverse in dinosaurs. Its skull is both unknown and essentially unpredictable, as possibly-related ceratosaurs have highly diverse crania, ranging from Limusaurus to Masiakasaurus to Ceratosaurus. As such, he is facing away.
