The C-9800 Landing Craft was an landing craft that would be phased out in favor of the C-9979 Landing Craft, but still proved to be useful to the Trade Federation, who utilized both ships. Although the C-9800 Landing Craft carried a smaller number of droids and armored vehicles than the C-9979 Landing Craft, the C-9800 Landing Craft was still capable of delivering an army worth of battle droids. When the Trade Federation joined the Separatist Alliance, not only did they provide the C-9979 Landing Craft, they also provided the C-9800 Landing Craft, and they would often be deployed into battles where droid forces would be able to overwhelm any clone forces.
Throughout the Clone Wars, C-9800 Landing Crafts would be used in numerous engagements, proving to be a menace to many clone forces that would come to dread the C-9800 Landing Craft, just as much as they dreaded the C-9979 Landing Craft. Like the C-9979 Landing Craft, many C-9800 Landing Craft would be deployed at the Battle of Coruscant, deploying numerous battalions of battle droids against Republic forces on the planet. After the Clone Wars ended, several C-9800 Landing Crafts would be stolen and used by pirates, continuing its legacy of deploying combatants into combat zones.
