Description

The Zeldrate Battlecarrier was an interesting ship that was utilized by the Separatist Navy, during the Clone Wars. Armed with several cannons to protect itself, as well as carry a fair complement of droid fighters, but what made them truly impressive, was their capabilities to transport various landing crafts within its hull. The Zeldrate Battlecarrier was able to carry two C-9979 Landing Crafts in their upper, and six Occupation Landers (three on each side) that could connect to the hull via special clamps designed to wrap around the Occupation Lander's circular hull. The Zeldrate Battlecarrier was responsible for carrying a full invasion force, and be able to deploy them via the landing crafts that it carried, causing many Republic warships to try and target the Zeldrate Battlecarriers, and stop the landing crafts that deployed from the ships. Throughout the Clone Wars, no ship in the Separatist Navy was feared by the planetary forces of the Republic than the Zeldrate Battlecarrier, as it was able to deploy landing crafts that could carry droid ground forces to give clone troopers a hard time.

Although many Zeldrate Battlecarrier were destroyed during various battles, many droid units were able to be deployed to planet surfaces, giving many clone forces a hard time. The Zeldrate Battlecarrier would continue to see numerous battles throughout the Clone Wars, delivering armies worth of droids in either the C-9979 Landing Crafts, or the Occupation Landers. Three Zeldrate Battlecarrier would go on to be used by General Grievous in the Battle of Coruscant, so that the large amount of droids would keep the Jedi and clone forces would be distracted, while Grievous captured his two primary targets: Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of the Galactic Republic and Senator Padme Amidala of Naboo. After the Clone Wars ended, the newly formed Galactic Empire would capture all remaining Zeldrate Battlecarriers, and dismantle them, ending their legacy.
