Before we begin, I'd like to tell you something.

The Serperior I'm going to use isn't exactly sweet and cuddly like those that you know of. Ever heard of ∂ (Delta Species) Pokémon? Marian is different, in that she's a ϴ (Theta) Serperior from a land that the Pokémon League bans all Trainers from approaching. Being a ϴ Pokémon, she has a (slightly) different Typing than usual, and has a different Ability. She's spiky like a thistle, too. I'll let you know when you touch one. She's also a few shades darker than an ordinary Serperior.

Okay. Anything else about her, you'll learn as we go. Ready?

Marian was relaxing atop a Mossy Rock, soaking in sunshine. To any onlookers, she appeared to be taking a nap. However, she was wide awake, searching her own mind for answers as to why, and how, she lost a battle when neither she, nor her opponent, used a single move. Normally she'd completely destroy her enemies, but this Ranger was... different. He didn't even send out one of his companions. All he did was... talk calmly, as if he were in control, and was getting an insubordinate child to bed.

Thinking about this Ranger wasn't going to fix anything, and after a nice long stretch, Marian left the sun-soaked Mossy Rock. She figured winding her way through the undergrowth would help forget about him. If that didn't work, she could always bring the up the subject while in conversation with her mother.

A young human was walking along a path nearby. He was not a trainer, so instead he carried a pistol. It required a lot of paperwork, but he just didn’t see the appeal of having a bunch of pokemon.

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 02:45:53 +0000 UTC]

Marian had been poking a tree branch with one of her vines when she saw (through the trunks) the general outline of a human. Unsure if a single person following the ever-so-slightly overgrown path was just a trick, she slid back down into the briers, and, cautiously checking her surroundings for nearby Rangers, kept ahead of the lad.

She accidentally scrapes one of the non-animal/Pokémon/human residents of the forest with one of her thorns, sending a rather frightened Metarachnid scurrying across the path, eyes glowing yellow. {A Metarachnid is similar in appearance to both Ariados and Galvantula, the only differences are: Eyes change color depending on how Metarachnid is feeling, has eight legs, but can run if it puts its legs into a similar formation as the other Bug Type spider Pokémon, is almost entirely made of metal, and can turn invisible. They are quite friendly to humans.}

Recognizing potential trouble, Marian hurries along the path, beyond a few turns, and disappears into a bush.

JedMon In reply to Kordharin [2018-04-03 02:59:37 +0000 UTC]

“Huh?” I see the spider, and lift up my shirt a little. I rest my hand on my pistol, stopping. I look to where the Pokémon ran from, narrowing my eyes as I scan for any movement.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 03:20:07 +0000 UTC]

The Metarachnid had been loudly chittering, clicking, and in other ways alerting every creature that something nasty is near the path made by humans. It's long gone, but its panicked cries can still be heard. Marian silently waits until the locale is silent once again before moving.

Sensing no action nearby, she sends one of her vines through the bush, twisting here and there for the sake of appearing completely natural. With the tip out, she opens the bud of her vine, revealing a very large (like, big-as-your-head large) lily-like flower, bearing twelve petals, 0 stamen, 0 pistil, 8 sepals, and a rather attractive, honey-like scent. She oozes out a tiny amount of nectar to hopefully boost the effectivity.

"I should've ssstayed in the sssunlight longer..." Marian grumbles, beginning to feel a little hungry as she watches for potential victims.

I slowly begin to move forward, my hand still on my weapon. The disturbance had left me more cautious of my surroundings.

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 03:38:08 +0000 UTC]

Marian carefully adjusts her position, and then relaxes as she adds a second vine-flower to the bush, keeping it on the opposite side of the original. Scanning the forest for predators and prey alike, she focuses some of her energy into the plants along the path, quickly growing thick, thorny bushes on either side of the path, making an open space around the bush she herself was concealed within.

Something like a Legend of Zelda fairy flies near the edge of the sudden growth, with a faint whisper of "Für... isp..."

{These creatures usually appear wherever a ϴ Pokémon disrupts the peace, said to be summoned by the upset of all those that had once been at peace. They're usually black, with a red glow that grows in strength if they've been consuming anger. The Furisp's wings are always tattered and grey...}

JedMon In reply to Kordharin [2018-04-03 03:47:34 +0000 UTC]

I see the little fairy pokemon, slowly moving forward to get closer. I had never seen one before. My grip on my weapon relaxes a little.

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 14:11:04 +0000 UTC]

The Furisp flits around the boy, and settles on a branch at his eye level. "I sense... curiosity?" it says aloud (via telepathy), "Um... hey, kid... be careful up ahead. All those flowers... a Deceiver is among them, and I can't tell which is which."

JedMon In reply to Kordharin [2018-04-03 14:22:15 +0000 UTC]

I tilt my head, then nod in understanding and thanks. Heeding the warning, I keep an eye out for the flowers.

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 14:42:55 +0000 UTC]

The path was hedged in on both sides with thick clusters of thorny vines, except in places where there were bushes. Each bush had at least ten lily-like flowers in various stages of bloom. There also was an odd orchid-like flower on a narrow stalk in the middle of the path. At least one of the open flowers was giving a deliciously sweet scent.

Marian watches the cautious human patiently. Thinking to herself, "Everyone has a weakness, be it visual beauty, lovely scents, or are just plain idiots. He'll fall eventually, or not at all.", she remembered that Ranger from earlier. Such a strange man. {The first sentence was what the Ranger had said, the second was her opinion.}

JedMon In reply to Kordharin [2018-04-03 14:50:26 +0000 UTC]

I saw the flower in the middle of the path. This immediately raised some red flags, causing me to draw my weapon. I look for a safer way to continue around it.

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 14:56:03 +0000 UTC]

The flower, as soon as your weapon left its holster, uprooted itself, and ran off. {I haven't named that one yet, but it looks like a Bellsprout with a vivid orchid instead of that PvZ Peashooter-style head...}

Shortly after that left, the normal sounds of the forest continued, though there was a sound of uncertainty in the their calls. {i.e. "Is it over?", "The Deceiver has vanished!", etc.}

JedMon In reply to Kordharin [2018-04-03 15:03:43 +0000 UTC]

I keep my weapon drawn. I did not believe for a momentthat had been warned about a small Bellsprout. I look around as I continue walking, even glancing over my shoulder occasionally.

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 15:11:55 +0000 UTC]

Amused by what she saw, Marian sends her voice through the thorns and vines, making it sound as if she were everywhere at once. "Of all the “Ravagers“ out there, I'm a ‘Deceiver‘, not a ‘World Breaker‘. If I were the latter, you would be nothing but ribbons." And with that, she sends some of her power through nature again, preventing the human from attempting escape. The path beyond the bushes is also blocked off by the same thorns.

"To put it sssimply," Marian says, adding a little more to the flow of her nectar, "we “Ravagers“ and “Guardians“ are what happens if you bring a Pokémon to thisss continent. My great grandmother wasss from the Unova Region. The ever-so-terrifying ‘World Breaker‘ is a Garchomp that escaped one of those Breedersss... and it continuesss to wreak havoc for all that live here, desstroying everything in itsss path. If you were in the mountainsss, you might find ‘Incinerators‘ and those referred to as “Deep-Freeze‘, both of which are variantsss of Ninetalesss."

Kordharin In reply to JedMon [2018-04-03 15:55:23 +0000 UTC]

"I'm sssimply worried you might not make it to your desstination. Your weapon may be effective on the Beastsss, on other humansss, and mossst Pokémon, but “Ravagers“ like myssself would not even be penetrated by sssuch projectilesss. If you had a ‘Director‘ or an ‘Angel‘ with you, I wouldn't be bothering you. If you had a Beassst with you, I might fight your guardian, if only to tessst the ssstrength of your teamwork. And had you been with any Ranger, you would be perfectly fine, as they know how to deal with those like me."

{Directors, Angels, and Restorers are from the other group, the Φ (Phi) Pokémon. They usually are the opposite of Thetas, and are referred to as Protectors. The Thetas are known as Ravagers. A Director is a Nosepass/Probopass, an Angel is an Absol, and the Restorers are Meganium.}

"Ssseeing that you're alone, traveling thisss part of the world can be tense... those with companionsss feel more calm here. I do not wish to harm you. Go ahead and sssmell the flowersss." At that, she closes her flowers, retracts her vines, and then rises out of the bush she had been inside.

Marian gazes {her eyes are a light purple} sadly at the boy. "It'sss pathetic, really... I ssshould never have left Everthorne Foressst... hunting here has me bassking in sssunlight more often than I usssed to. I'm almossst always hungry here..." She slowly coils up in an open space, still leaking nectar from her vines, {she sometimes forgets to stem the flow.} yet allowing as much sunlight to touch her as possible. She struggles with something at the base of the 'V', and grumbles "Life would be ssso much sssimpler had I not been of Royal blood..."

She faces the boy, still attempting to adjust her assets {usually referred to as Nectar Bags} with slippery vines. "And encounter Arceus knows what else is out there? Alone?" Marian says, with a tone of worry "Child, there are far more terrifying Ravagers than I. More often than not, they're in a bad mood, and won't hesitate to annihilate you." She takes a deep breath, and regains her previous composition. "The Everthorne Serperiors aren't like that. Though we may be Ravagers, we are in far more control of ourselves than the others are." She thinks for a moment, then continues. "I can get you to the nearest human settlement, or one of the Ranger Outposts... Your choice."

She gives up with her sacs, leaving them coated with sweet-smelling nectar. Noticing every shift in the boy's stance and voice, Marian slowly approaches, keeping at least three feet away. As she shows her length {just over 5 yards}, she suggests "I can take you to... his Research Station..? The Ranger I met earlier is... famous... among the humans. His perssonal goal... is to give every Pokémon Trainer a better “PokéDex“, better than the ones given out by the... League."

Marian circles the boy once, still keeping a yard's distance, and stares back into his eyes. "It isn't too far... From here, the distance is somewhere between Stonewall and the nearest Ranger Station. But, of course, unless you want to encounter the ‘Siren‘ on your way there, I can take you."

Aware of his actions, Marian, as gently as she could, said "I wouldn't use my tail to grab you unless I really wanted you dead." Looking to the sky, she adds "It'd be faster if I can go beneath the briers, so as to avoid being seen by the... ‘Zephyr Blaze‘... but to do that..." Marian doesn't vocally finish the sentence, but locks eyes once more.

{The Zephyr Blaze is a Theta Talonflame, a mortal enemy to the Everthorne Serperiors, and extremely deadly to adult humans. One can only imagine what they'd do to a child...}

Marian sighs, a small frown where her mouth is. "I thought you'd be more clever than that." After taking a deep breath, she continues. "I move fastest when I'm down low, like this." She demonstrates the difference in speeds. After that, she rises, locks eyes, and continues. "With the thorns above me, I am concealed and protected from airborne attackers. If you were a flying Pokémon, would you like to get stuck in sharp, thorny vines?"

She rests for a moment, and finishes. "If you're walking beside me the whole way, either one of us could be caught. If you ride me, you'll likely be scratched, cut, and bruised. Do you get it now?"

However, other beings, such as a human, the shoes they wear, and their sidearm, can be perfectly fine.
