*I got on all fours. While I didn't like the position, it certainly made staying hidden easier. As I watched the young human I thought of what I should do: I didn't want to startle him into leaving, but I wanted to talk to him. I didn't want him to run, but he most definitely will do so. I didn't want to make him think he had to be afraid of me, but it seemed like I had to in order to make sure he stayed. Not wanting to lose him, or the opportunity, I decide to follow until something presents itself.*

(Smooth!) *I continued to follow, making a rustling noise occasionally. Even though I was used to the terrain, I had a bad habit of not looking at what I was about to step on, in this case a rabbit hole. One of my paws fell in the rabbit hole and I yipped as I did so, having been scared by the sudden movement. I covered my mouth with my other paw the next instant, another mistake. I fell forward onto my face and grunted, all the while thinking that the kid had probably run away by now out of fear and that I'd have to find him latter* Crap *I whispered. Even being in the mountains with no one to tell me not to, I had gotten in the habit of refraining from cursing as much as possible.*

I tried to make myself as un-threatening as possible, which amounted to a smile that would crack a mirror, and raising my hands like I was about to take a sizable chunk out of the nearest object. Hmmm...Well, you could have gotten hurt! Their are trails for a reason you know! If you had fallen, and you were this deep in the woods, I would be the most likely person to hear you. And I can't go showing all the normal humans my face! I'll get hunted down like a rabid wolf, and I, for one, do not intend to let that happen! *I looked up, arms crossed. It was starting to get dark out, and even the trail wasn't safe during the night. I sighed. I looked back down to earth, to you. You were so much smaller than me, I could keep you safe. No, I HAD to keep you safe, whether you wanted to come with me or not. I stood back up again, no smiles or awkward arm positions this time, and stared into your eyes. So bright, plenty of life left to be lived under the right circumstances. I steeled my resolve. I took my first step forward.*
[Is it possible that he falls out of surprise when I take a step forward, because I'm kinda drawing a blank on how else to have me go through the, "motion," without him freaking out. I mean, he might freak out latter, but he has no chance of hurting himself then. Not saying that you would do that, just saying that in a maw that only fits a third of you, and tightly at that. If you move to much in their, you are going to stab yourself, especially with creatures that have fangs. Never saw how they would manage to avoid hurting themselves, just didn't seem possible. So a willing, or unconscious prey would be best for those preds if they're kind hearted. But hey, just an opinion.]

I take as step back as you begin to advance, and my shoe catches a root of the tree I was near. I yelp in surprise as I fall, landing flat on my back.

*I rush forward, knowing that humans are fragile I thought that even that small fall might have hurt him. I put a paw on his shoulder, or at least what I could fit of one. And asked in a concerned tone.* Are you alright? Did you hurt yourself? *It seemed that I was genuinely worried for you, I didn't want you to get injured or be in pain. Why would I care?*
