3 1/2 inches. Doesn't sound too big, but definitely looks it. LOL

Oh, come on -- you know the song by The Who, "Boris the Spider!"
Whatever happened to him after you took this pic, by the way?

Also, where do you live? I've never seen those kind around my area. I live in So Cal, in the San Diego County. Do you live out in the desert or something? East coast maybe? o.o

That is the most creepiest thing I've seen with that thick of legs and a big body lie that. And you found that inside your house? That's crazy! I'd be shittin' my pants if I saw one that big waking aroud my house. I'd be screaming to my dad to get rid of it. As the others say, squishing something as big as that, that would be pretty darn disgusting. Very nice shot. Everything is sharp and even his eyes and the hair on his legs are real sharp. Very nicely done and also props for the uninvited model.

Holy crap I am afraid of spiders. I think this is a wolf spider, they carry their babies on their back. I think spiders are gross but it is even more gross to kill them. I either have to have someone else to kill them or I run them out of the house.
One day one about that big ran across my floor with Pretty Kitty right behind it. I was afraid of the spider but I was grossed out if she caught it. I grabbed her and let Craig take care of the spider. A different story happened when a mouse came out. I went and grabbed Pretty Kitty and showed her where it was so I could watch her stalk and kill it.

LOL You crack me up Kip. Which one are you most afraid of, spiders or scorpions? My answer would be scorpions. Damn those things are creepy.

Ehh, both. I think scorpions are a little more interesting to look at. Spiders just freak me out.

Scorpions freak me out more. Not sure why. Could be because, as far as I know, there are not harmless scorpions.

...ponders what his/her name should be....
That is one massive spider, and it has received a great close-up, the eyes are even apparent...amazing & actually quite lovely.
Spiders that trespass my territory are also always granted amnesty, good for you

It's male. If it was female, the body would be much rounder. And thank goddess for that, too...you don't have to worry about 300 others being hatched in your bedroom.

I think I'll let him handle that. There aren't very many on line spider dating sites. Just [link] And they're expensive.

Dang, the link didn't work!!
Gathering from the size of him, I would imagine he's pretty old. Unless he can get into a garbage can with a container of Viagra, I don't think Mr. Boris is gonna find any action, poor guy.

I've heard "Wolf Spider", and "Huntsman Spider" so far. They look so similar, they could be the same spider.

I didn't personally catch him. My friend did, and he used a plastic water pitcher, and an oven mitt. Worked great.

LOL A friend of mine said it was a wolf spider. I don't think they're poisonous, but they can bite. We put him back outside.

It looks a lot like the huntsman spiders we get over here regularly.. [link] We have them in our house all the time through the warmer months. They get rid of any insects but they're not so great when you realise there's one in your shower or your shoe!!

Yes, they do look a lot alike, except in the face. They are scary, but harmless.
