Description
As dusk approaches, Jesus summons Peter, James, and John, guiding them through fields and up a steep path to a secluded mountainside. After a day of journeying and teaching, the climb further tires them and Jesus, who has eased many of their burdens and revitalized the weak, yet shares in their human exhaustion.

The waning sunlight bathes the mountaintop, casting a fleeting golden hue on their path. Yet, as the sun sets behind the western hills, darkness envelops them, mirroring the deepening sorrows surrounding their lives.

Without questioning Jesus' intent or destination—knowing His habit of seeking the mountains for night-long prayers—they follow, puzzled by this arduous trek when all crave rest.
