Description

Just testing out some things for future character sheets. I think I'm happy with the number of ages, the colour cycle and the layout. I'm wondering if I should maybe add a generic paw like the tail tuft to show whether or not the toes are coloured, but it felt boring because there's so few paws that differ. Maybe I'd only add it IF there was a change? I'm not sure.

For Tiifu, I've taken her colours from S2E25: The Underground Adventure. TLG doesn't change their colours through aging (at least from what I've seen between S1-3) and there's also an unfortunate gradient on everyone's colours that really messes with perception, so I've tried to remain consistent and where possible always take colour from the level of their nose bridge in the most daylight I can find. Obviously spots and tails aren't going to be the same so I've made adjustments if I need to. At this point where the colours were taken, I think that Tiifu was in her pre-teen phase, and by the end of the Lion Guard she's actually in her late teens.

One day I'll make a journal about everything I think, but it's not concrete now so you just get it in half-baked thoughts.

I used Simba as a good age reference;

0-3 months - Infant: Simba/Kiara ceremony age.

3mo - 6mo - Cub: Simba at the beginning of TLK; Mufasa's death etc.

6 mo - 1 year - Young Adolescent: Simba's mane during slug eating at TLK1/5: (I'd also put Kovu in this category from the beginning of TLK2; early pre-teens).

1 - 3 years - Adolescent: Simba's mane in the hot tub in TLK1/5 - where his mane is grown but still short. (Also Kovu at the end of TLK2)
3 - 5 years - Young Adult: The end of TLK1 for Simba

5+ years - Adult: Simba at TLK2, Mufasa in TLK.

I've essentially taken the life cycle of a Sim and applied it here So their colours also shift with their ages - infants and cubs are brighter, pre-teen and teen are slightly duller, and then young adults and adults really settle into their colours (for Tiifu, her bright ear rims don't dim, and her freckles become more pronounced). Simba and Nala's colours change pretty dramatically between TLK1 and TLK2, and there's 100 reasons that people will endlessly debate over. I'm not going to follow the same logic; their adult colours will be taken from TLK only and there's no shift in colour after they reach the Young Adult stage, until they start to get crusty in which case their colours will just saturate slightly.

Who knows. I change my mind about this almost as much as I change my clothes.
