Manny appears to suffer from some form of dementia that causes him to be disoriented in his surroundings, which leads him to rapidly switch personalities from a hard-boiled criminal to a doting family member. In either of his personas, Manny often does unorthodox actions. With his normal persona he is a career criminal, breaking into private property with intent to steal.
