Description A blow-up of an icon I made for the roleplaying character of my friend, Bob. I just did it based on his description in Mazaika , our new LiveJournal roleplaying community. I'll probably do one of my own character soon.

I really can't say that I can draw realistically, and even in my style (Bob wanted it to be CAR -esque), it's hard to keep things serious, detailed and good-looking. But the proportions aren't that bad, the clothing isn't too bland, and the coloring/shading isn't the worst I've ever done. I'm always so hesitant about shading, though... I just don't know how they do it so well. Please don't hurt me because of the background - keep in mind that it's an icon, and with 100x100 images, the generic Photoshop clouds/lighting works quite well.

Drawn in Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Professional, on a Wacom Intuos tablet. Shaded/rendered in Adobe Photoshop 7.

The tattoos are really cool-looking!
I also like the contrast between the burgundy cloak and the green background, they go well together. Nice work!

I like it. Too much details make images really cluttered sometimes. Nice and simple. I also love the tattoos. It'd be awesome to have tattoos like that. The arm proportion is a bit off, but nothing serious. Great job.

I like it lots! If anything, the style is very unique, and the clothes are decidedly fantasy. Of course the background doesn't need to be detailed for an avvy - in fact, you're absolutely right, it is better if it isn't. Too much detail just makes an avvy too busy, so it's better to keep it simple for the most part. And of course, things get lost in the sizing. Like that lovely tattoo work you've done on him. *sniffles* Ah well, when it's small one will still have an idea about what it looks like. I really like the simplicity! It says a lot with a very little, a good accomplishment. ^__^ Also, the shading doesn't look bad at all - it is in keeping with the simplicity. I like! - jams
