Here we have another request from a return commissioner! Mr. Kenny Rogers got ahold of me after quite a while and hit me with another epic commission. This guy is just chalk full of great images to work up as commissions. First he wanted Kratos of God of War fame, then Master Chief from the amazing Halo franchise, and now this. Wolverine versus Sabretooth. Seriously this is one of those confrontations that entire generations of comics readers will remember for decades to come. And I can't believe I am saying this, but Mr. Rogers was the first person to ever ask me to draw such a momentous rivalry. And I did everything I could to make him happy and try to do justice to the history of violence between these two. And he was so gracious as to let me have some input into the costumes of these two. I know that both have lots of options when it comes to their costumes, but I just always loved the tan/orange and tan costumes that they had. The earth-based palette just seemed to push the animalistic nature of both characters to an extreme. They almost drifted completely away from their humanity and into this primal mind state. And that's why I just love the look. And I haven't ever really seen them wearing the same basic color scheme (I know that they can have some subtle shifts in color to separate them but for the most part its the same color setup). So yeah, this was pretty freaking fun! Thanks Mr. Rogers and I am still wearing my 'jealous face' about that issue #1! You lucky lucky man...
