Well, no, not yet anyway. We're different in that there are more humans than sharks (so we are often overfishing and consequently either overeating the sharks themselves or eating their food) and we have a conscience which we can use to tell what is right and what is wrong morally.

But isnt it the right thing to Β to kill a shark (or drive it away from the area to be less harsh) if it's continuesly killing people on a public beach.

When people hunt sharks for shark fin soup, they literally cut the fin off the shark while it is alive and dump it back in the water. More people are killed by dogs and cats each year than sharks.
More people are killed by gumball machines.Β
The rate at which we kill sharks is over ten times the rate that sharks kill humans.
So the picture can have a deeper meaning.Β

FarOffPromise, I'm curious why you think we are brutally murdered by sharks in the same way we murder them. Sharks? Laughable. Hippos kill far more humans per year, yet you don't see any maniacal hippopotamus movies being blown out of proportion like shark documentaries and movies (ie; Shark Week, Jaws).Β
Lightning's killcount towards humans is nearly six times greater than that of a shark's.
In fact, for every human that is killed by a shark, approximately 2,000,000 sharks are killed by humans. Only an average of 5 people die yearly due to shark attacks. There are far more people dying of starvation due to the cruelty of their own species than something as trivial as being "brutally murdered by a shark".
I hope you are enlightened and think twice when watching fictionalized documentaries.

If you actually think sharks brutally murder people you need to stop mistaking Movies from reality and watch a documentary instead of a Hollywood film!
Just because one animal kills a human dose not mean that it's whole species should be deemed murderous.
I feel this is a larger issue then just with sharks, since we are the superior race on the planet why do we do the most damage.
