Contest Entry for CobraVenom with the theme of the fears and phobias with a black cat included in the artwork.

The contest is to draw a spooky/horrific artwork involving a black cat that hints at a fear or phobia. I decided to go with a somewhat different angle than the obvious and drawn an image related to my own personal fear. Because I'm not able to swim I also have a phobia of drowning which effects my ability to get into deep water. So with that in mind I decided to draw the idea that this person [the viewer] has fallen off the pier and then a black cat prevents you from returning to the surface and has damned you to drown.

So I then tried a lot of new stuff with this and it hurt my brain so much. #1 cats, I don't often draw cats and those paws hurt my brain, #2 water, I've not drawn water very often and never drawn water from underneath, #3 this perspective was really hard for me to work out and I spent about 2hrs brainstorming out it would work in a stream with friends helping me out. Thankfully the body of the cat wasn't needed to be drawn so I avoided that brain ache haha It was supposed to be night time as well but it looks a little too bright so take it how you will haha Making the water look right for the part that's above warter hurt my brain too but I dont have time to mess with it because i be busy bee and needed this done like yesterday. But thanks to sleeping 14hrs i lost yesterday to be able to work on it.

"In Western history, black cats have often been looked upon as a symbol of evil omens, specifically being suspected of being the familiars of witches, and so most of Europe considers the black cat a symbol of bad luck, especially if one crosses paths with a person, which is believed to be an omen of misfortune and death."
Must be a spooky, eerie, Halloween entry, involving a black cat. The entry must have a foreboding sense of horror about it, but not actually depict violence. Fear is what should be represented. If you have any phobias, or childhood fears, you can go wild with them in the entry, just be sure to include the black cat. The cat may be the main foc
