Description
During the events of Avengers vs. X-Men, Illyana is chosen as one of the "Phoenix Five", a group of X-Men granted additional powers by the Phoenix Force. After Ms. Marvel is defeated by Rogue, Magik appears and gags the Avenger before teleporting her into Limbo, trapping her and terrifying Rogue. Following the defeat of Cyclops, Magik and the other former members of the Phoenix Five are reported to have gone on the run. Colossus and Magik escape and teleport to Siberia.

Colossus deems himself damned due to Cyttorak's power and Magik responds with delight much to Piotr's confusion. She claims that she knew Colossus would take her place as the Avatar of Cyttorak and that she wanted to give him regret and to make him feel damned. In a moment of anger at this realization and betrayal of the person he thought he could trust the most, Colossus turns into the Juggernaut and attacks Magik where she eventually teleports away.

Magik eventually took her brother to her hell dimension where she was able to free Cyttorak's influence from Colossus completely. She revealed to Piotr that in her domian she is able to alter any deals of other demons and in doing so would be able to free Colossus as the Juggernaut. Shocked and surprised by what his sister did, Colossus said if she did anything like that again he would kill her.

Magik smiled and teleported away to join Danger and Magneto in freeing Cyclops from prison. It has since been revealed that unlike her teammates whose powers have gone out of control following the lost of the fragments of the Phoenix Force, her powers have actually increased and she is now able to channel the energies of the Limbo dimension. She currently supports Cyclops as a member of his revolutionary X-Men.
