16:9 Widescreen Format WallpaperRendering of my new series of Green Lantern-based power rings. Each ring based on a size 8 men's ring featuring a 3-dimensional variant of the various Lantern Corps icons from DC Comics Green Lantern comic books.
Modeled and rendered with Lightwave. Final render using radiosity, caustics and depth of field. There are nine light sources counting the seven colored point lights placed within each ring. The camera is positioned approximately half a meter from the rings.
EDIT: Fixed the lighting of the orange ring.

*Throws money at the screen* Seriously these are amazing. If they ever made the corps in a movie or tv show this is how they should look. They have that just look frickin amazing. All I can do now is pointlessly throw money at my computer and hope that some how gets me a ring *continues to throw money at the screen*

These are easily the COOLEST power ring designs I have ever seen.
One of the reasons I adore the Green Lantern mythos so much is the whole concept of how the lights of the emotional spectrum adapt and change to each individual user. From subtle things like the constructs they prefer to bolder design differences such as uniforms and rings, each Corps member is united with the others, while still retaining just that hint of individuality.
I love these rings. I love that they have a bit of the look of being pieces of advanced technology in addition to accessing powers as old as the universe. The Guardians always referred to how the rings were "programmed", and this seems incredibly faithful to the idea of being super-advanced technology while also harnessing a power transcending technology alone.
If only these puppies were made real...instant buy. Excellent work!

All my Green Lantern art is in my gallery in the Green Lantern folder. I did a black ring, but I haven't done a white ring for this series yet. There is an older one I did that is more like the style in the comics though.
