At art school, we were asked to respond to the topic, The Body - Spirit and Flesh. For my jewellery assignment, I focussed on the idea of spirit animals, the way they are able to transform us into something more powerful. I correlated this to the notion that costuming changes who we are when we step into another's shoes. So the necklace acts as a kind of armour, it is a protective barrier from who I am.I don't necessarily believe in spirit animals, but it's something I'm interested in. I think I have an affinity with a raven.

I rather like the raven feathers - there's this nice contrast between them and the white of the dress(?). The lighting is also effective, and helps bring out the whites. The wallpaper(?) in the background also works quite well.

Why thank you! I chose the white dress and the white background in order to make the necklace the focal point, so I'm glad you think it's effective
