Another au I made late at night last night, this time I wanted to try coming up with a dustnega combo because the attempts + canon I've already seen have been...lackluster, no offense. So enjoy some good ol JesterB speciality lore for my own take of Dustnega

This version of dustnega starts as a normal undertale genocide timeline, up until Papyrus dies. The great amount of mental distress from both his brother's death and the situation around him causes Sans to develop mania, which causes Sans to lash out at Grillby when Grillby tries comforting Sans about his obvious stress. Then, while still in this state of mania, Sans comes up with his plan to gain more exp than the human (he made it in a rush this time, so in a way its more sensical how things eventually don't go his way lol), though, what worsens his mood is how hard it is to actually GRIND for exp, monsters are already on high alert from the human, so after the few kills he does end up getting (including from Undyne who almost killed him). Sans returns to snowdin town, trying to see if the library would have anything helpful. He eventually comes apon an old tome, written in a strange language. Sans attempts to read it out, which ends up in him accidentally casting it. What happens next is that in one fell swoop, the happiness and raw positivity in the underground is harvested all at once, not only that, but it's inversed to become negativity, then...all that energy floods back into Sans, causes a massive power buff, surprisingly without even gaining a single level. Sans shrugs, at first not noticing what happened, but as he continues his plan, he finds its now MUCH easier to kill monsters, as a lot of them were either just wallowing in fear/grief, or had already given up. He eventually realized that whatever that book did, had inadvertently weakened the monsters! At the time he thought the only draw back was the new changes to his body, so after a small wardrobe change, and taking the book from the library incase he needed it, he set out to become stronger than the human. He didn't even need to kill anymore at this point, so he just injured whoever came in his way instead. He started developing a bit of megalomania, thinking higher of himself, overestimating his power, but in the background, the curse he released, which he was now the vessel of, was also slowly eating away at the last bits of positivity in sans as well, causing him to slowly fall into the same weakened behavior that the others exerted

By the time the human reached judgement hall, Sans himself had given up, allowing himself to be willingly killed by the human. Once he died, the curse was lifted, but the damage was already done.

Some small extra notes
-Each of the survivors designs are based on their Negatale counterparts vaguely
-Flowey gets the whole Alpha Asgore treatment, now being a fusion of Flowey and Asriel, which was either already existed or was another effect of the released curse
-Mettaton NEO had his limbs torn appart so Sans could both humiliate him, but also so he'd be a non-threat, Sans left him for Alphys to find
-Muffet had 4 of her 6 arms torn off by Sans, just like how Asgore did to Muffet in Negatale
