Don't make me explain the science, because I can't >| ; her brain has been slowly replaced with computerbits, so that now she's fully programable. She still retains her bizarre personality and memories, assosiations, knowlage, etc. Now, though, she can have information uploaded to her brain. Kantz [a face none of you are familliar with] fitted her with this technology, as she's the only one who knows he's still alive. [he faked his own death so he could continue his work in secret.] Now she's his eyes/ears and hands; which is why he gave her the compuBrain, so he could 'program' her to perform tasks and procedures she otherwise does not comprehend.
Other than that, she contains no other mechanical or digital modifications.

There IS a varity of reactions, despite the general ruling, that is; some persons may find they are light sensitive, or allergic to silver or other metals, to varing degrees.
Holy objects tend to only have affect on vampires who believe in them to have effect, or objects that are used with a strong conviction behind them. The first instance is usually psychosomatic, and the second relies on the complete and unwavering faith as well as the "spiritual force" [so to speak] of the attacker. Most people and many vampires do not possess the qualities needed for the usual "sign of the cross", "holy water", "consicated bullets" crap to have much, if any, effect. Humanoid Rights groups seek to list that sort of behavior as "hate crimes". Most vampires just find it annoying to have crosses thrown at them, and water sprayed on them.
Im digressing, so back to my point: both Monny and Verti's kind still have to eat "normal" food. It keeps their bodies working! However, they cannot eat dead or decaying animal matter, doing so can cause minor nausea in small cases, and larger amounts can kill them. So many keep to a strict vegan diet, or just a very cautious vegan diet. They eat fresh fruits and veggies, beans, nuts, grains and that sort of thing.
Where Monny and Verti's kind differ is how they maintain their "undead" status. Verti and Tequi must consume living blood; they do not need to kill, nessessarially, but they do need the blood. It can be from any sort of being; human, morphic, draconian, demonic, non-morphic animals, anything so long as it's _alive_ and belongs to the animal kingdom. However, it's not the blood, but the "life energy" that rides along with the blood that they need.
The altered DNA allows them to absorb this energy from the blood, and thereby keep their bodies suspended.
Mongoose's kind skips the bloodletting and goes a straight energy-energy transfer. It is arguably a 'psychic skill', and any "mortal" could learn to do it. What makes one a vampire is that one's own energies subsist on taking other's energies.
Either way, the energy prevents the body from aging, rapidly heals wounds, and makes the affected being slightly more resilliant than an adverage humanoid.
