Description This is a commission project for Murtaza Ali Bukhari, featuring the starships Elsa and Indus. The accompanying story is written by him.

"Home sweet home," Benjamin thought to himself as the runabout lifted off the expedition site to make its way up and out of the atmosphere . After spending ten days with the away team, mapping out the newly christened Farore 3, he was eager to file debriefing reports and take some much needed R&R.

Inputting an arcing pattern, he manually flew Indus towards the rendezvous point to rejoin with the mothership up in orbit. As this was his 5th mission flying with this particular runabout, Benjamin felt he was getting the hang of it.

"BEE-EP. Course deviation by 0.58"

Well almost....

"Pay no mind to her chirping ensign. You already know that she gets temperamental if she doesn't pilot herself."

Glancing over to his right he saw Captain Mumba slip into the OPS seat. "Understood Captain..." She quietly chuckled as she tapped gently on the console, as if telling the runabout to behave. At the same moment two other away team personnel took the flanking seats while the rest of the team stayed in the aft compartment.

"What is our ETA?" the Captain inquired.

"We'll be rendezvousing with them within six minutes sir."

"Excellent." She looked back over to science, helmed by Lieutenant Daria Quin. "Now Quin....I and probably half the crew will be looking forward to your report...."

Without even looking at the Captain, he instantly knew she was being playful and left them to it. Ensign Benjamin Tilly was transferred to the USS Elsa six months prior, after spending his first year at Luna Station. He remembered how dull it was to be posted in the Sol System, along with the unpleasant dealings with his superior. On a fateful day however, Benjamin was called into office and expected to be given some sort of bogus reprimand. Instead he was begrudgingly told that the young Ensign was requested to serve onboard the USS ELSA. He left within 7 hours, taken to Star Station India where the Elsa arrived to receive him. It was a surreal moment in his life. All because he unknowingly played Strategema with the ship's Captain, Mara Mumba. Now here he was in the present, out in deep space and exploring the unknowns.

"......Seriously if it hadn't been for Tilly for taking the runabout over that spot and beaming me out, I would have been lost!! Great Bird of the Galaxy, I swear I heard creepy laughters..Sounded like sugar high children.."

Now both women faced the Ensign and Mumba spoke up "He is a quick one Lieutenant...You owe him a drink."

"Agreed, he is definitely going to get admirers for his heroism...Oh come to think of it... there is that Trill fella..What was his name...He works in Operations.."

Having not taken his eyes off his piloting, the ensign was going red. "I uhhh can't...."

The Indus piped up her sensor readings indicating a telltale starship signal. Saved by the runabout. He decided there and then that he will help the hanger crew with her next maintenance service.

"Captain, sensors have indicated the Elsa in range now....Receiving communique."

A small screen to the right swaps the trajectory chart to an imposing looking figure facing them. That man happened to be the first officer, Commander Vincent Cornell.

"Welcome back, I trust that your 'camping trip' was enjoyable."

Everyone smiled. As a Centurion, the commander's mere stature was enough to hold Tzenketh and Gorn in their places. His deposition to outsiders would make anyone assume he was cold and aloof. And to Tilly's experience, they aren't wrong but not right either. Captain Mumba once told him to not be scared of the commander. His harshness is never directed to his shipmates and is in fact fiercely protective of his crew. He uses his personality as an advantage to size up and strategize.

"Definitely enjoyable Vincent." The captain spoke "There are telltale signs of a former civilization but the places that point to one are impassable by terrestrial overgrowth and mixture of fog. Our equipment could barely map out those regions...."

The commander tilted his head slightly, "Would you think it's similar to Vale...."

"I prefer to read over everyone's report before coming to any conclusions. There were peculiarities but for an 8 billion year old planet, it fits within most geological patterns."

"In that case, I look forward to reviewing the materials...Especially Lieutenant Quins..."

"Hey now!" The lieutenant lightheartedly protested.

Tilly dually respected his commander and mentor. Once he saw Cornell in a new light, he started to understand his demeanor better. In this instance he was relaxed and happy to have his Captain and team back. Out from the corner and growing in silhouette, the Elsa was coming into view.

"Captain, we're now coming into position. Charting a path now to the landing deck."

She tapped her combadge, "Captain to the away team, we'll be arriving home shortly. Well done everyone, our mapping mission was a success."

From an exterior vantage, runabout Indus made her way back towards the starship. The Elsa, in all of her majesty, was framed ever so elegantly over the planet she was orbiting. Once he lands and is taken to hangar bay 2, the Vesta Class would break orbit to embark on its next segment of deep space exploration.

For the young Ensign, he was eager to explore the next set of mysterious.....After some R&R of course....
