What you see here is the infamous CFA-44 Nosferatu from Ace Combat 6. She comes from a long heritage of "superplanes" that characterizes the franchise's gameplay. Armed to the teeth with over the top specs: omni-directional salvos and electromagnetic wizardry guarantee a surefire one-turn-kill against any opposition. The game's storyline had it flown by the Strigon Squadron's flight lead, which became the player's nemesis.

In retrospect, the Nosferatu never captivated the fanbase when compared to its predecessors. She has a relatively conservative and dare I say it, realistic looking airframe. Even that sleek delta profile simply felt too tame for seasoned Ace Combat veterans. In their view, the previous ADFX-02 from Ace Combat Zero and the later F-3 Shinden really had it better in bonkers department. The NATF-esque X-02 Wyvern was in a league of its own as well.

But that isn't saying that the CFA-44 is no good. It's a fine example of Namco's make-believe aeronautical engineering - one of the better looking ones too.
