Just a little something to show what I do for commissions (when I do them), though they will probably be a little more detailed when it comes to thumbnails the next time I DO do them.

...Anyway, proposal sheet for Unit CP-X01 for Sakky, though she never got back to me on it so I don't know if it's happening :/ oh well.

Notes given with the sketch:
Unit's face shot is actually a little more detailed than on the concept sheets I've done before, most of the time I have to make up my own face and so there isn't as much detail put into it (mostly because I suck and need to keep the detail out in order to focus on the simple details to make the face different XD). This time I felt that Sasha Pivoria had a good face for Unit/Tiane. Not so much a body because being a model, she is a bit of a stick. She's also not smiling which I have fixed on my copy of the sheet but is not reflected in the scan. She looks much happier in my version, so just... Imagine she's not looking all serious there.

I would really ignore from about the neck down, and because this is just rough and ready there are a few anatomical mistakes... But other than that, that is pretty much how I would have her looking. So just wondering if you're ok with that. The Tezuka style Unit is just me mucking around so you can ignore that unless you're really after something like that oO. There is a question next to the bigger face sketch saying "eyebrows are just lines?" but I answered that question myself when your profile said she has no hair.

Then I have the three thumbnail sketches...

1. Sort of 45 degree angle looking down into a sort of futuristic (apocalyptic?) city street. Unit would be somewhere near the middle of the bottom of the image, looking up towards the viewer. It would be an interesting piece but the fact that it is a HUGE challenge with the perspective means that although I would have fun mucking around and agonising over it, it could take a while and might not garner perfect results.

2. Sort of a portrait piece from around her waist up. This is from the start of the short story when Unit's just standing with all wires connected to her, and for some reason I imagine she has a wall with all electronic junk behind her. I also have her arms crossed too, but this makes it obvious I haven't read the story for a while and don't actually remember how she's standing... This would be rectified. I'm also unsure as to whether she'd be bald or not? Is she always wearing that armour? It would be a fun piece for me to play around with textures and flashing lights but it might be a bit boring because she is just standing there with her eyes closed. But it is illustrative of the story as well, so you have that going for you.

3. 'Silly + Cute 20' Refers to this photo I just sort of found somewhere . You might have seen it before. I thought it would be kind of cute to make Unit do a more cute pose I'm unsure what type of background I would have. Because it is a full body shot, it would really show off Unit's outfit which I know a lot of people often want out of images. It brings out the sort of high maintenance, light hearted personality that she should have though. It's a pin up, so it's sort of up to you whether that's really what you want or not.
