I haven't seen.. many people talking about the moment when Albatross discovered he is an animus.. and the shit hitting the fan with his sister losing claws, oops
Like, what would happen if he didn't do that? Will he found out about his powers in different way or kept it hidden entire life? Intoresting.

Also if we think about this event, it pretty much affected everyone from the start.
Sapphire lost her claws, and thus possible throne. Lagoon eventually became a queen, and overused Albatross' animus powers (or rather.. made him use it too much, you get it). Fathom eventually founds out he is also an animus, which scares the shit outta him. And then massacre happens and Pearl ascends to the throne ("""peacefully"", my ass, she lost good half of her family), and clearly tells Fathom to never use or mention him being an animus (and that he reminds her of their.. grandpa? uncle? Albatross so much. after the massacre. rude much.)

Oh and I headcanon that animus dragons have lighter irises, as a visible sign of their animusness or sth. Iris gets lighter every time they use their powers, eventually turning completely white at the very end.
IDK it aesthetic thing.
