Description
This is my first piece submitted to Deviant so I figured I put my one of my most recent and favorites Matthias. His face, hands and feet are sculpted in Polymer Clay (a clay that bakes hard at low temperature) and he is dressed in assorted leathers and chamois. He is considered by some as an "Art Doll" and is freestanding. His candlestick, candle and flame are real and his hair is "mohair." He stands 11 inches tall. Matthias is entirely hand made (with the exception of his eyes which are glass) including his clothing, and his is poseable.Related content

I am completely fascinated with your work. I have been following your work for a while now. My very first doll was made from your tutorial on spoon dolls. I learned how to sculpt faces with the extreme expressions by looking at your work. I have even asked you advice questions on fb. You are a wonderful artist.

Very cool work! The character looks cute- it looks like that not only did you put a lot of hard work and effort into this model, but that you had fun doing it as well- kudos! He kinda looks like something from Labyrinth

This is amazing. You really get a kind of comforting feeling from him! The expression is great and the craftsmanship blows me away! Two AMAZING touches are the melting away candle and the little big toe sticking out, brilliant!

Sadly, it appears that this artist is no longer active on DA. Her last deviation was uploaded back in 2006, and her last Journal was posted in 2008. Too bad she didn't receive the DD when she could have enjoyed it, as her sculpturing work is simply astounding.
