It's Luka again!

This year I really wanted to draw Luka in her Dreamin Chuchu outfit, but I wanted to avoid the traditional interpretations of the upbeat, positive song. I tried going for a more sombre mood instead.

I felt kind of bad doing such a low effort pic for Luka's bday so I wanted to try something a bit more complex this time. That said, I also started this one really late so I was very nervous about how it was going to turn out. So nervous, that I actually took a whole day off work on Friday to work on it! That's also why the bg is non-existent.

I am actually glad that I gave myself that free day though. It's been a while since I've been able to be in the zone for so long.

I've recently come to realise that the real work actually comes after you think a picture is just about done. All the endless little details that you can't help but keep adding, right up until the deadline...

Some new challenges with this piece were
- the head angle
- the whole body angle tbh
- chromatic abberation (though I watched a saito naoki vid that made it easy)

Next up should be Kaito's bday pic, which I already finished because I participated in a project with a Feb 1 deadline (February is so busy this year)!
