Description
Well, THIS took freakin' forever. I've actually been working on it for several months, but for some reason, I never had time or motivation to work on it. And after all that, it came out looking like crap. Seriously, I promise it's my scanner's fault. And once again, even though no one cares, I'm going to give you an over-long look at why I drew them like this.Giant Ghini: The thing, in-game, is surrounded by three smaller ghosts. Pumpkin Head is populated by a Ghini with a bow, so I thought "Hey, what if one of the three ghosts inside Ghiant Ghini escaped and became Pumpkin Head?" That's why one of them has a bow. I made it look like Jalhalla from Wind Waker, hence its new name.
Pumpkin Head: I made him look like a Poe from Twilight Princess. Because.
Swoop: Since they attack in the same way, I made Swoop look like an Aeralfos (instead of looking exactly like Knuckles...come on, seriously, he did look like that). His pointed metal shoes are how he splits the floor when he dives.
Head Thwomp: He spins, you throw bombs in his head, and depending on what face you hit, different things happen. Hey, that's just like the Goron Vase in Ocarina of Time! So, yes, he looks like the Goron Vase crossed with a Twilight Princess Armos.
Subterror: I made his drill mechanical and gear-based. It could fit into Twilight Princess or Spirit Tracks that way. Also, giving his bracelets made his hands look like the Mole Mitts from Minish Cap. Hey, maybe that's where the Mole Mitts came from!!.....ew.
Shadow Hag: She's like a Poe from OoT, but since she's a witch, her hair is a broom. Yes. I also gave her the eye and hood of that creepy Poe salesman in OoT.
Armos Knight: Basically a TP Armos. I thought he needed horns, so I gave him some.
Patra: Yes, I reused my drawing from my previous boss collection. Yes, I know I should be ashamed of myself.
Great Moblin: I always gave Moblins this hunchback look, I'm not really sure why. Anyway, I gave him a spear and lantern from Wind Waker, and I also gave him the King of Hyrule's crown and a bomb bag from Twilight Princess. I think he looks cool.
Smasher: I basically made him a Chu instead of a...whatever. I had an idea for how you could fight him in a 3D game: He dives on you with his metal ball. You have to grab it out with the Switch Hook, then pick it up and toss it on his eye.
Smog: He's a big lightning cloud, so I made him an enormous Lakitu! And as it turns out, you need to defeat him with a cane item, and in The Minish Cap, you could also defeat Lakitus with a cane item! I did not remember that when I drew this, so yes, I'm a genius. lol The turtle is a Snapper from Majora's Mask. I also gave him horns, because he needed them.
Vire: I had an idea. Instead of splitting into two Keese when he dies, there are Keese living inside the skulls around his neck, and they become bubbles when Vire is killed.
Octogon: I made his top look like a Like-Like, because I thought "It's a tall, fleshy mass with a big hole on the top." Other than that, I drew the thing as a BigOcto from Majora's Mask. Because that's basically what it is.
Angler Fish: He's an evil fish, so I made him look like Gyorg. I considered giving him Jabun(from Wind Waker)'s angle and lantern lure, but I just stuck with hanging the lantern on his big horn. And as it turns out, that DOES look as stupid as it sounds.
Plasmarine: Ah, the wimpiest boss is Zelda history. I gave him a spotted pattern and waving...um...skirt...because its body shape made me think of those weird flat fish...I think they're called Spanish Dancers. His drawing is PARTICULARLY crappy because I drew him really small for some reason and then had to blow it up on my computer.
Death Stalfos: He's a reaper, so I thought I could make him look like a combination of a Stalfos and Gomess (from Majora's Mask), who is basically a reaper made out of bats. I like how this one turned out, how he's emerging from the Keese and all. On his scythe, the inscription is from Death Sword's...well, sword...in Twilight Princess. Translated from Arabic, it means "shrieking." Which is awesome.
Ramrock: I know that he's technically made of rocks (though in-game he looks kinda like he's made of clay), but for some reason, whenever I picture him, I picture him being made of bricks. Maybe I was subconsciously influenced by Eox from Phantom Hourglass or something. Who cares.
Veran: I really like how she came out. She looks like both a Twili and a Gerudo, so that's what I made her! I patterned her skin and dress after Midna's, and I also gave her a ponytail. For her fairy form, I made her look like the Great Fairy from Twilight Princess, but I gave her a top. Also, she's growing antenna. In these next few, I wanted to picture her as evolving...getting bigger, more evil, and more insect-like. Which I why I placed the bosses in rows of 3. She goes from Fairy to Wasp to Beetle to Spider, getting fatter, growing more legs, getting hairier, and getting closer to the ground. Also, her mandibles get bigger and her wings are getting smaller. The beetle form was weird...I kinda just made an insect up, rather than going from a real one. I like how I put the Twilight pattern on her shell, though. I think she could also lay spider babies, like Gohma, so in her spider form, I gave her a Twilight Portal on her butt, from which the spiders could come. And that didn't even remotely seem awkward to me until I typed it out for the whole world to read.
Twinrova: I gave them bird masks, like Wizzrobes. I thought it made sense because they were witches (and their fantastically huge schnozzes made for good beaks). It's hard to tell, but I put a sun on Koume's left eye and a moon on Kotake's right eye. And I wrote "Twinrova" on their masks in Twilight Princess Hylian. Also, yes, I know that in their dual form, the fire is supposed to be on the right, and vice versa. As a Zelda fanboy, I should care that I did this wrong, but I really don't. It was an accident, but I geniunely think that it looks better this way. Also, I made both halves mirror each other, for obvious reasons.
Ganon: Yes, once again, I committed the crime of reusing a drawing. Please don't hate me.
...DANG, that was long. If you actually bothered to read that whole thing, you deserve a cookie or something.

A lot of these designs are excellent. Personally, I think your Veran drawings are incredible. I'd love to see a game with these in it, where Veran becomes less human and more insect/arachnid as the battle progresses.

Thanks, and thanks for the fave! Honestly, I just use pencil and then scan it into my computer...it gets its somewhat-distinctive grittiness because my scanner sucks something awful.

Oh, actually, I should have mentioned this before. Once I have the picture on my computer, I also turn up the contrast a LOT. It makes everything darker.

Wow, thank you! I actually did start working on an Oracle of Seasons one. I'm sure I'll get that done soon enough (though, since most of the bosses are from the original Zelda, I'm going to be re-using a lot of artwork. Thankfully, there are enough unique minibosses for me to do something interesting). And thanks so much for the fave!

My pleasure These drawings do a good job at fulfilling my dreams of seeing what various older LOZ games would look like, with the epic graphics that TP used
I especially love how you used Midna's true form as a reference for Veran ^^ You also did great with her demon fairy form

Thanks! I've also always wanted to see the older bosses with a Twilight-Princess type design. It would be so awesome if Nintendo remade some of its old Zelda games in that style.
