Dragon Quest 10 comes out in Japan next week. I shouldn't be so excited because it's not like it's coming out in the US next week. In fact, it's not uncommon for the international release of a Dragon Quest game to take additional year. But maybe that means I can mark my calendar for August 2013 and be super ready for it.

Anyway, the point is, I wanted to whip up a little something to share my hype for this game I can't even play any time soon. Also, perhaps I miss doing OCSCs a little. End result: celebrate the game with girls in swimsuits! ^_^

Technically, from what I understand, there are no set characters. You create and design your character in terms of appearance and job class (and do the same for your party, OR recruit other players online if you want). There's a particular focus on non-human characters (the game's subtitle is roughly "Rise of the Five Tribes"), and it STILL remains unclear to me whether human is a playable option (since it's not technically one of the five).

The five races being Ogres (the red woman), Weddies (the blue one), and Elves, Dwarves and these cute little things called Puklipos (the latter three not seen above). I like them all, personally, but I chose these ones specifically as they're probably my favorites. I especially like the Weddies for reasons I can't entirely explain. And for the Dragon Quest fanatics out there looking at this (if there are any), this piece was inspired by one of the trailers, which briefly cuts to what looks like a beach party scene featuring all of the races. In that shot, both of these gals were wearing the same pink swimsuit (the Sizzling Bikini, according to DQ9). I felt it kind of clashed with the Ogre girl's skintone though, so I opted to give her Magic Bikini (DQ3 and DQ8) which I felt suited her better. The Weddie girl still has the Sizzling Bikini.

Also there is a Shell Slime on the shore. Just because.

But that's it for now. I wish I knew Japanese so I could play it. But since I don't, I guess I'll just have to wait and maybe draw more pictures in the meantime. ^_^
