Okay. Now I'm on schedule with this.

Let's continue my mini OCtober of character reveals. Today I'd like to introduce the next character from my game, Save the Princess.

Introducing Zane, the Healer

Zane is a warm and pacifistic young man, always eager to help out anyone in need. He also loves to take in the sights and sounds of every place he goes, learning new things about various different cultures along the way. These attributes seem fitting of a traveling priest. His cutting wit and unrepentant sass, less so.

But he's not really a priest anyway. Rather, he's a prince. In his kingdom of Annella, it's customary that their future rulers go out and travel the world on their own as a common person for three years before being crowned. The idea is that it may help the new leader understand and appreciate the lives led by common people of all kinds throughout the world.

Zane is nearly at the end of his three year journey and should probably be on his way home by now, but he's been hesitating. Is he getting cold feet? Does he feel he's in a better position to do good things where he is now? Is there something he's still looking for? He himself seems to be struggling to answer these questions.

And it's right around this time that he meets Arendt , who is just beginning his search for adventure. Arendt proclaiming himself a "hero" catches Zane's attention, and drives him to tag along. Partly because he's intrigued by Arendt's confident claims and wants to see what this man plans to do to earn that title. And partly because Zane worries that, unsupervised, this so-called hero (and his overwhelming zeal for battle and glory) is just as likely to break something as he is to save it.

The coronation will have to wait just a little bit longer, it seems.
