Fordo has probably one of the best helmet designs from the Clone Wars!
As for what the shot is paying homage to, I gotta admit I'm stumped unfortunately.

Am I losing my mind? Because I think it was his red phase I helmet that he wore in that scene. I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure it wasn't this one during that scene.
