Description
Another experiment with the new Strand Based Hair in the DAZ Studio 4.11 beta. This time playing around with "Warg HD for Daz Dog 8" to try and create a German Shepherd. I also explored layering different fur coats to create a more natural effect. In this experiment, I used information from the Wikipedia entry on fur to create a Down hair, Awn hair and Guard hair set of hairs, each with different hair style settings and densities. This allowed me to use a lot fewer hairs than my previous experiments and thus it requires fewer resources. No post workRelated content

Thank you, I haven't been too happy with my dog experiments lately, so I decided to start over and see how mother nature does it

And now for some poetic commentary regarding Mother Nature:
Nature makes cute little bunnies,
foxes to eat them,
and rabies to eat them both.
She makes happy little lambs,
wolves to eat them,
and anthrax to eat them both.
Nature may be a mother,
but the trailing word isn't
Nature.

Thank you, I learned so much about the way fur with this experiment and it made it so I could use fewer hairs and it made things rendered so fast and the hair turned out so fluffy

We usually see flat shaders...not from Joe: great grass!

Thank you, I think that was the problem with my previous hair experiments, they were too flat. The grass is part of Stonemason's great "Jungle Construction Kit 02" set

Using the natural method of layering the hair made them so fluffy
