Description
This is my "Fuck work on the Friday before Labor Day Weekend" vector. Lily Allen. Never knew who she was until that Common joint with her in it. Then I saw the video and thought she'd make a decent subject for a vector. So here's the illy of Lily. Hahaha. I'm the funniest man alive.I sort of hastily worked on this as I have to get out of here to catch my bus, so I may look at this and see if I need to fix it up and maybe add more of a background or something.

So cute! You captured her general button-ness very well. The simple tonal range works wonders, and I love the lineart. Awesome style which is not too complex, but just looks great. Great job.

Yeah, I don't really know her all that much. I need to borrow some of her music or something.

You've done it again. Lily Allen is HILARIOUS!!! I've had her album for about 6 months now. You should check it out. It's called "Alright, Still". She has a joint called "Window Shopper" that is remake of the 50 Cent garbage of the same title where she talks about how much she hates her grandmother. Funny funny stuff.
On another note, how do you do it? I mean, how do you make the shapes appear to be translucent? Some shapes appear to overlay other shapes. I know how to do this in Photoshop, but how does one achieve this in Illustrator?

I use transparency in Illustrator. For shading, I usually draw out the shape and have it the same color as the skin and set it to multiply and adjust the opacity. I add red and pink a little bit too especially around the eyes and things like that.

WHAT?!?!?! There's a tranparency filter in Illustrator? You mean I've been doing this the hard way the entire time?

What version of AI do you have? If it's 9 or above, you got it. Go to WINDOW>TRANSPARENCY. It's set up relatively the same way Photoshop is. The only thing tricky about it is when you go to print it. Transparencies in AI get all weird when you go to print. That's why I started bringing my work into photoshop when I'm finished.

WORD. I don't plan to print anything anytime soon from Illustrator, but I used to almost always bring it into PS to print. And I have AI CS
