in space art this combination is actually quite rare.

bin mir nicht sicher ob dein kommentar ironisch war oder nicht?^^ Die meisten Spacebilder atm sind doch Rot-Blau? Das ist doch der Mainstream? xD

cashox In reply to xclusiv8 [2012-11-29 20:35:57 +0000 UTC]

dude its cause its an obvious mix of base colours that work very well together, colour theory will tell you that

xclusiv8 In reply to JoeyJazz [2011-05-15 14:33:46 +0000 UTC]

to be fair those kind of pictures are taken with cameras that can take pictures from the near ultraviolet to the near infrared. what you see in that picture is not what you would have seen if you were looking at it with the naked eye.
"The pictures that are released to the public are put together from the various available filtered exposures. Sometimes they will use false color to highlight a particular feature that glows at a particular wavelength; other times they try for a "natural" look. If infrared or ultraviolet light is important to the image, they will translate that color to something you can see. Virtually all of the pictures are more colorful than you could see with the naked eye, because your eye isn't sensitive enough to pick out the colors in these very dim objects. The first function of an astrophoto is to make the object look much brighter than you could see it by eye, and that includes the intensity of the colors."

Tell me something I don't know. We would see black nothing - the point is, that if we could, we would see it this way.

Yeah, it's amazing how time goes faster with age. Gone are the days I post every week even though now it doesn't really take much more (or less) time to do something. Guess I just procrastinate more

This is sorta what I image it may be like being inside a nebula looking out. Though unfortunately the real thing probably wouldn't be as refined and colourful up close, but this is cool in itself, I'd only say the shaded side of the planets would probably look better if they were more reddish, as they seem like they would be as close (or even closer) as the darker, redder area to the left and so probably wouldn't have yellow haze from the next zone higher up colourizing them

JoeyJazz In reply to Chromattix [2011-05-15 14:00:21 +0000 UTC]

It probably would be better... ...unfortunately, I don't really have enough energy (or time) to adjust it (my biggest dream - "one day I'll adjust and finish all the pieces with little mistakes I've posted" ... with my luck I'll manage to do it when I'm a pensioner).

Actually - I've already managed to paint around 15 space art images... ...all of them were commissioned for a product that's going to be released next year - so, I'm kinda active (but yeah, forcing myself to paint yet ANOTHER space art for the masses is just exhausing).

Chromattix In reply to JoeyJazz [2011-05-15 14:06:20 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry, after I have submitted something I find it hard to go back and edit it. Mainly because I don't want to go through the process of saving another copy, re-uploading it etc. I hate that more than fixing the artwork itself, so even I only edit deviations if the same flaw is pointed out my multiple people separately

Yeah, even I can only do the same think for so long. Though I think if I had to do heaps of the same for a commission I'd choose space ones since they're a bit easier than the other stuff I do. But I prefer doing something different in between before working in the same genre again

JoeyJazz In reply to Chromattix [2011-05-15 14:12:23 +0000 UTC]

Yup - that's exactly what I hate - saving, adjusting and uploading - that second part is the worst - usually it is a wallpaper PACK...
