Description Snape is momentarily nonplussed at his student's question; even first - years know what a Potions bottle is. A split second later, it dawns on him: He has inadvertently managed to introduce Darkness to a room full of innocents. After that first day of teaching, his arm was always carefully concealed.

Sounds fun ... but I'll have to see. I am busy with the wedding, but I do want to get art from at least something here. Sometime. Hopefully. I have a pencil sketch I did of a woman that involves roses that I still haven't gotten around to finishing in pen.

Awesome idea.

I actually thought this was a representation of Jesus before I saw it was for this group. What is the halo/magic aura supposed to be?

Also, fantastic nose, one of the best Snape Shnozes I've seen. I also love how the kids all have their own/different expression. Great detail.

Thanks - it looks like a religious subject in the thumb, I thought that too, but it wasn't overtly intentional. I do put a lot of halo effects or other stuff to draw the viewers eye back to the central figure in a lot of my paintings I think it's just a compositional device most of the time. I'm glad you liked this, and I really appreciate the Schnozz comment! It's fun to make it outrageous and yet have it still work with the face. Thanks again

Young Severus is very touching here - in first seconds looking at the pic I didn't realease what was happenening, just liked him socializing with kids like this, without atmosphere of fear around him...

Thanks - that's what fascinated me about the challenge in the first place. One does not START teaching burned out and angry, and at some point he had to have a connection with the children he taught on a day to day basis. This would be a sobering reminder to stay detached and remote from them . . . .

Oh, I've read a couple of fics of this period in his life - there he specially tries to work out this severe manner of his (apart he'd never been a nice person in his behaviour) for he feels too young for a professor and is afraid his students won't respect him enough and obey him... rather plausibly, I believe
