the map show Europe following the Napoleonic Wars which have been ragging in Europe for decades. this map shows the new German Confederation (and totally not the holy roman empire under a different name). the the restoration of the Italian monarchs in Tuscany, Lucca, Sardinia, Modena, Massa and Carrara, the Kingdom of the 2 Sicily's, Parma this also shows Austria rise in Italy with the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venice and the new house of Habsburg-Lorraine in Tuscany, Parma. the House of Bourbon-Parma which would rule over the new state of the Duchy of Lucca and successor to the Republic of Lucca this house would also rule over Parma from 1847-1860. this map also shows the bourbon restoration in France. in 1815 Sardinia and Prussia are a long way from unifying the modern nation of Italy and Germany. Many monarch in Germany and Italy don't want to give up power they just got back. Please also keep in mind the duchy of Schleswig is is a part of Denmark same goes to the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venice although the kingdom of Lombardy-Venice is a dominion like Canada. for Schleswig wanted to show where the German Empire boarders would go in Denmark following the war with Austria over Schleswig after the war Prussia will form the Northern German Confederation.
