Well, for one, a Wonderbolt costume would be obvious, and second, it's Nightmare Night, she's supposed to dress up to look scary. Thus, SHADOWBOLT.
Plus it gives her an excuse to mess with people.

Dash didn't want to be evil for real, but she sure has fun pretending to be a menacing Shadowbolt. She looks like she did a fine job with the costume here, plus that deliciously mean smile is contagious.
Good thing Luna only got her back in kind. The princess could have split into the real Shadowbolts again and they could have given her a blanket party.
