Description
At Wimpole hall near Cambridge, there is a stand of evergreen oak (Maul Oak, Holly Oak) - a very twisty, knotty and fascinating wood. Very hard to work, and hard on tools. Beautiful grain though...Some trees have fallen and where he bark has come off near a side branch, it is as if the wood has fowed around it, producing eddy patterns in the surface. Probably beneath it too!
I found them amazing as the texture/pattern. I hope you do too.
