When you think reflections are overdone (specially upside down)... we came to a picture that looks the same, but completely different.
All the blur and the confusing centre of the image gave new depth to that reflection, look how everyone got confused
I like how the yellow tree worked out with the blue sky. Nice job.

hmmm... nice, but i think the photoshopping crosses from photography to photomanipulation(maybe you could stick it in darkroom if you really want)... it's none the less creative and pretty though good job!

i dont need to hurt my neck, i know the trick you think it is(like half of that gilad genius's picks are like that), ive tried it too: [link] without much success though but ill give it a try sometime again, but these are the artists words:
"Thank you!
And I will tell you what I did. I took two pictures of the same reflection from different angels, then put them together."

this is not manipulation that couldn't have been done in a darkroom, and digital darkroom is allowed in the surreal categories because of the experimental nature of Surrealism and its tradition of using technology in exploring new techniques. so that's why it's acceptable in the category it's in

AllTheSame In reply to ??? [2008-04-07 21:33:52 +0000 UTC]
I have an idea of how this was done...
The top is the real unedited reflection and the bottom is the actual tree with the reflection layed over it at low opacity, then the whole image has been turned upside down, causing a cognitive dissonance, because not only do top and bottom both look like reflections without a real-world anchor, but one expects the "true" reflection to be on the bottom, not the top...
That's just me, I'm probably totally wrong.

the colours are wonderful here a really good job, I'm having trouble working out just what you did, but I'm gonna guess as to using a photo of the reflection on the water to start with? I don't do much with photowork and I'm olny learning the basics of photoshop really, so maybe you used some of the effects too... either way good work it a gorgeous piece of art
btw, I like going on photo walks too
hehe but I don't go much further then around my home (not that I need too....)

There wasn't much photoshopping to this at all. Yeah, I found this one way down back behind my house in the woods, you don't need to go to fancy places for good pictures, it just takes some creativity.
Thanks much
