You weren't quite sure where it came from, but Jumanji seemed like a harmless video game, something that might distract you for a few minutes before you got bored and found something else to do. But as soon as you hit start, you discovered it was much more than that. You found yourself transported to a strange jungle with no idea how to get out. And in someone else's body.A display appeared after you tapped your chest, calling you Jake Davenport, Master Mesmerist. You were the character you chose in the game. Your listed strengths include charm, seduction, and hypnotism. Your weakness is combat. "Great", you think to yourself. "Trapped in a video game and my weakness is fighting. How lame is this?"
That's when you saw her walking toward you. A gorgeous redhead in an impractical, but eye-catching, outfit. Maybe this game wasn't so bad after all...

"Yeah, I am good at fighting!" Ruby is excited to potentially be of help. "My only weakness is venom, so hopefully we won't see any snakes. Does your character have any strengths?"

"Yes, my strength is... Negotiation." *Cameron lies, both because she thinks her strength might be stupid and fake, and also because if it's not, she doesn't want Ruby aware of what she can do.* "And also medicine? So maybe I can help with that venom if it comes to that!" *Cameron smiles cheerfully at Ruby.*

"Oh, okay. I'm sureΒ negotiation willΒ come in handy if we meet any bad guys in this game." Ruby wasn't actually sure about that, but for reasons that Ruby didn't really understand, it was important to her that Cameron like her.
"And yeah, as dangerous as this place looks, I'm sure knowing medicine will help" Ruby looks around the jungle that surrounds them. Nothing but plants and trees inΒ every direction. "So should we explore this place? Maybe we can find a way out. Though I'm not sure how far you're going to get in those heels." Ruby lets out a nervous laugh.

"Yeah, somehow I doubt standing out in the open is the smartest thing we can do. Which way do you want to go? I'll follow you." *Cameron takes up a position behind Ruby, ready to follow after the fighting expert.*

"Oh. Okay. Guess I'll lead the way." Ruby picks a direction at random and cautiously begins to move forward, checking behind her every so often to make sure you're okay. They occasionally see some wild animals minding their own business and move to steer clear of them. Eventually they get to a clear field and see what looks like it could be a small building in the far distance. "What do you think? Should we check that out?"

*Cameron looks behind her and begins to hatch a plan.* "I don't know, Ruby. I don't like the idea of walking out in the open in broad daylight. We could be spotted by who knows what." *She decides to test out the full capabilities of her powers and attempts to modify her voice to sound as convincing as possible. Not hypnotic yet, but just something that Ruby would hear and think 'she knows what she's talking about.'* "Maybe we should stay in the jungle until night fall. It's probably safer in here."

Ruby wasn't sure staying here was the right move. It looks like they could reach that building before nightfall. But something in Cameron's voice made it seem like she knew what she was talking about. "Well... if you're sure. Walking out in the open could be dangerous, I guess."
Ruby looks around and sees some tree stumps they could sit on if they needed to. Cameron's feet are probably killing her. It must not be easy to walk through the jungle in those heels. "So you want to just stay here until it's dark? Do you want to sit down and rest?"

"Oh no, I don't think we should stay in one place for too long. Who knows what or who is in this jungle? I think we should definitely keep moving. I'll be fine in these heels, don't worry about that at all." *Cameron is pleased at Ruby's receptiveness to her low level suggestions and begins to devise a plan for her next steps.*

"Oh. So you want to keep going, but just... stay in the jungle?" It seemed like a weird choice to Ruby, but Cameron seemed so confident. Ruby decided to trust her. "Okay then, let's keep going."
They start walking parallel to the clearing. Eventually the clearing fades from view and they're again surrounded by jungle on all sides. Ruby decides to break the silence with some conversation. "So what do you think they were going for with your character? I mean, I can at least understand Ruby, a badass fighter chick in a skimpy outfit, but Jane? A negotiator and a medic in leather pants and heels? It seems like an odd mix."

"I don't know the first thing about video games so I couldn't tell you. I assume you're like that girl from tomb raider, but I don't know what they were going for with me." *Cameron starts advising Ruby to go strange ways, off of trails and into thick brush, until they seem totally lost and Ruby is starting to get concerned and maybe scared.*

The jungle seems to be getting thicker the more they travel. The farther they go the less safe Ruby feels. Cameron's advice seem to be leading them into more danger, not less. Could Ruby have been wrong about her? "Cameron, maybe we should head back. I... I'm not sure we're going the right way." Ruby's eyes continually move in seemingly every direction as she nervously searches for dangers that she's sure could pop out at any moment.

*Cameron, while fully aware of where they are and how to get out, lets out a long concerned sounding sigh.* "I think you're right. We may be lost. Let's go into that cave over there." *Cameron points to a small cave near a waterfall that seems like a good temporary shelter.*

Ruby's not sure that the cave would be any less dangerous than the jungle, but at least it would make a good landmark for them, since they're lost. "Well... okay. That waterfall is pretty, at least. And the cave would make a good shelter if we need it." Ruby nervously approaches the cave, still wary of danger.

*Cameron follows Ruby into the cave and sits down on the floor, taking off her shoes and rubbing her feet. She looks over at Ruby, who's nervously peering into every nook and cranny in the cave. "Ruby, we're fine in here. Come sit down, you look a wreck right now.*

After a few more moments of searching, Ruby is eventually convinced that there's nothing that can harm her in this cave. "Yeah, I can only imagine. I must look terrible. I'm not tired, though. I may not like Ruby's dress sense, but at least she's in good shape."Β She sits down next to Cameron.

*You're not tired, Ruby? You look so stressed and tired. Poor thing, it looks like you're about to have a panic attack. Here, sit. Take a breather." *Cameron says politely setting her next trap*

Trying to be polite, Ruby remains seated. She figures Cameron is probably as nervous as she is and needs Ruby there to feel safe. She doesn't blame her. "Sure, Cameron. I'll sit her for a while. But at some point I should probably try to get some water from outside. I think we could both use a drink." They can hear the nearby waterfall from inside the cave.

*I know we'll have to get water in a little bit, but Ruby, you look so exhausted. Just rest for a few minutes." *Cameron makes her voice even more convincing, trying to convince Ruby that their ordeal took more out of her than she originally realized.*

Ruby starts to open her mouth and object, but Cameron sounded so convincing. Maybe she was more tired that she thought? Yes, the more she thought about it, the more exhausted she felt. Her muscles suddenly felt sore, and she felt too tired to even think about moving. Why hadn't she noticed this before? "You... you're right Cameron. I am tired. I really just need to sit here for a while."
Ruby's shoulders suddenly slump and her eyes start to droop. A few moments ago, she looked ready for action. Now, she looks ready for a nap.

"Yes, Ruby. You're so tired. You've been working so hard today to keep us safe and get us out of the jungle. You deserve to rest for a moment. Just rest." *Cameron switches her voice to hypnotic, starting to coax Ruby into a deeper restful state with every word.*

You've worked so hard Ruby. Just let yourself have a moment. Listen to the waterfall. The waterfall and my voice." *Cameron's voice becomes so soothing and relaxing the longer Ruby listens to it.*

"MMmmmm.... relax" The last of Ruby's resistance melts away as Cameron's soothing voice gains complete control. Ruby has worked so hard. She deserves to relax. And so she does, slowly laying down onto the cave floor and closing her eyes. She looks so peaceful, you might almost mistake her for being dead if you couldn't see her toned stomach slowly rise and fall as she breathes in and out.
