Description Introducing my redesign of Cole. I HOPE --she-- doesn't look too much like a guy OTL (greatest failure in life)

Also forgive my bad anatomy (like arms). I was just trying to get the look and feel.

I made this character sheet mostly for the purpose of showing what Cole looks like, 'cause we're doing an art trade

--Extra info--
Cole's hair goes down to her shoulder blades in the back. I'm not dead-set on the colors, I just picked stuff. Personality for the most part is distrusting, quiet, anti-social, but not sinister or inconsiderate. Tends to prejudges people and situations and holds grudges against evil actions.

Please download to see the full size.

btw, Cole is my character for one of my games and thus isn't for use by anyone without my premission -3-

Yeah, it is possible to make a girl look "dark" and "cool", just pick up a reference of a model wearing dark clothes. The reason I thought her to be a him was because ... ahh... well...

...right, she had no boobs. Even if you think the pose is disagreeable (I don't think so, though), you could work on giving her body some shape. Like Hourglass or [ 8 ] shape, get what I'm trying to say?

GOGOGO!!!

For the sake of being different, I was going for a leading lady that wasn't well endowed. Not everyone is after all I'm a booger and like going against what is typically done. Sorta a principle of things. Not too mention my thoughts where "she hides herself" and thus her clothing has layers and bagginess that conceal her physical self which is a repersentation of her emotions she hides away.

*gets shot in the head for talking back to the nice advice giver*

lol... sorry I'm a turd. I'll doubtfully get everything I wish for. I'll try giving her more shape and see how that goes. Maybe just make her breast more obvious without making them bigger? At the very least, if she ever debuts in a game I'll give her a nice womanly voice XD So no mistakes!

anyways I love you so much for commenting and your advice it really does help ^_^ gives me a fresh view and works this dusty brain of mine *think think*

Well, it depends, as I've seen. Leading ladies should have at least a little curves here and there. They probably don't if they've taken ... measures to hide it, like chest-binding or something. It's good that you want to be different, nothing wrong with that at all. And it's quite interesting in a symbolic way that she tries to conceal her identity and emotions.

OK, I just looked at your picture again, and ... well, you don't have to give her curves up there, but you have to try to make her neck more slender. Her neck's a bit too thick for a woman. Eveything else is perfectly alright, since it's based on your style of drawing. CHeck out some female characters who aren't so endowed, and similar in physical features. For example, Squall Leonh- sorry, that's a man... umm...umm...

... do you have any real-life friends who are like that? Um, who are not so curvaceous, I mean.

LOL yes squally is the essense of feminine beauty x3

Yeah I was thinking of some art/pictures I've seen of girl-ish looking gals with small bosoms. So I'll try something like that next time.

Yeah I'm not good a judging necks. I don't have a thin neck myself and often use myself as a basis for my drawings so... yeah xD I need to look at some other girls and see how they compared.

I am a friendless fiend D: Actually the one person that comes to mind is going to college in another state... so bah... I need to go make friends with pretty girls

Um... well, DA has a lot of rich resources for that sort of thing. You can try (insert title)inhotography/people (that's right, no space before the word in). So, like if you were to type splash:in/photography/people, you'd get all related images featuring Splash.

As for necks, you can look up some tutorials to see it. I'm not good at explaining, you have to try it out for yourself to see the difference.

OK, the phrase "I have to go make friends with pretty girls" makes you sound horny. Horny Bunny. *GAAAAAASP!*

I'm sure I have some anime drawing books on drawing men vs. women. Ah yes, and thank you for the advice oh wise one *bows humbly*

It's a good thing I'm a straight bunny, for the sake of those poor pretty girls lol I think I worry people though haha *shrugs*

O wise One... hmm... has a nice ring to it. Kidding. I'm just trying to be helpful, Bunny.

I mean, you can study people as they pass you by. Like when you're on the bus or something. Memorize shapes and then you can sketch based on memory, bend life and shape it at will.

GOOD LUCK, BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^___^

sorry to say, but I did think she was a guy...
Two things I think would help: 1) if you move her eyebrows a little higher on her face, and 2)her poses.

But hey, she's awesome

Ah thank you so much for the advice I wonder if it's possible to make a girl look "dark and cool" without looking like a guy XD

it's all in those little nuances. The width of the shoulders is another big-little thing that makes a difference.
