--Character Background--
  Set 1 year after the end of Kamen Rider Zexal (Series), Kamen Rider Zexal: Future Wars (Movie) is about a new enemy called the Omnibeing that threatens the very existence of the three worlds. Seeing the coming threat, Yuma tries to contact Astral for assistance through the Zexal Driver, but nobody answers. Yuma is then suddenly transported to the Astral World, only to find that it is in ruins, and Astral is nowhere to be found. A strange man then appears before Yuma, telling him that Astral has been captured by the Omnibeing. Before asking the man how he knows Astral, They are attacked by soldiers that serve the Omnibeing. Yuma henshins into his Roots Mode and manages to fend off the soldiers.

  After retreating into the rubble, the man expands on how he knows Astral. He explains that he is from 5 years in the future, and the Omnibeing is also from the same time. He chased the Omnibeing through a rippel in time, landing in the Astral World. However, because of how the time rippel worked, he arrived 2 days after the Omnibeing, which was just enough time for it to destroy the Astral World. He looked for Astral, but after figuring out the Omnibeing captured him, the man decided to teleport Yuma here because of his experience dealing with world-ending threats. Yuma was skeptical of the story, but decided that now was not the best time to argue with someone about time travel. What mattered was that the Omnibeing needed to be stopped, Astral needed to be rescue, and Yuma had to save all three worlds... again.

During the final act of the movie, before saving Astral, Yuma learns that the man is actually him from the Future. Future Yuma then gives the present Yuma a Blank Card, saying that it represents his hope for the future. Afterward, Future Yuma entrusts Yuma with the duty of stopping the Omnibeing, and goes back to his own time. However, As Yuma frees Astral, The Omnibeing arrives, calling Yuma a fool for trying to stop his plans. He then says that all of Astral's power has been absorbed by him, meaning Yuma cannot transform into any form other then Roots.

  Yuma is dragged from the room by the Omnibeing through a portal that leads to the Human World. After arriving, the Omnibeing reveals the reason why he wants to destroy the three worlds. He saw the three worlds, and all life on them, as pointless, and decided that he will create a single world where he is the ruler, and where his perfect race would prosper (his perfect race are living beings who where converted into energy beings that have no free will). Yuma becomes enraged at the fact that the Omnibeing treats life as nothing. This makes the Blank Card glow, turning it into the Future Hope Card. Yuma faces forward with resolve and henshins into this new form.
