There's a misconception, that a desert is hot; now this just isn't necessarily the case.

A desert is somewhere that is deserted, it is somewhere where life is hard pressed to take root!

Seeing that this is the case It then stands to reason that most of existence is a desert.

Is it wrong to call the Sun a desert, certainly the idea of life spawning there is ridiculous, The machinations of our universe may be unknowable but that doesn't make them any less structured.
