Description
As the soldiers march across the once vivid meadow, their memories went back to childs and animals of the peasants who inhabit the kingdom. Their childish games used to infuriate the old merchant from the cottage close to the lake, the kids loved to scare the old man and there was the goats, these fat bastards were always gnawing at everything they could put their mouths on, it took only one moment of distraction for Albert the swift to lose his hat to the goats, after that nobody leave a hat on the window anymore. Ah! And there is the hills. The silk touch of the lush grass across their feet, the beautiful sunlight of the sunset dancing over the hills as if faes were playing as the sun make its way down giving room for the enchanting mystery of the night. All of these memories came and went to the troops as quick as their noses smelled the pungent dryness of the soil where they now stand.
Everything who was is no more, from the village only the sturdiest walls of the houses stand as a token of the horrors coming from the machine invasion. Where they went nothing was left, only the smell and the spoiled soil tainted with ashes from the deceased.
As the army reached what used to be the main square from the village they start to search for survivors. The commander was a young duke from the beyond the seas, he wasn't used to the weather before the invasion and was clearly not used to this type environment. However what was bothering him wasn't the weather as his troops assume, it was that noise. It sound like a very slow steam engine, almost a humming sound. It has been there for a long time, so long that anyone else has noticed.
At first he had dismissed as a far way train or a larger city preparing for war. However the noise seems to became louder and louder, he wasn't sure, but it looks like. In fact it look like was coming from right below them now.

I always had a thing for giant creatures in MTG and Phyrexian is full of behemoth like the Phyrexian Dreadnought
When I first saw the card it looks like it was coming off from the ground in a tremor fashion like way. So I start thinking about how an army of 1/1 soldiers patrolling the wastelands would react from this suddenly massive foe bursting from the ground and obliterating their lines. (The story above )
The drawing was entirely made by pencil in my usual fashion way. Starting with HB for sketch and starting the real drawing then 2B(corrections and shading) then 6B(final shading). It is very exhaustive sometimes .
I wanna put some impact on it so it took me three attempts to choose a good angle until I'm finally happy with it . Then about three more days in drawing time to finish it. In real time it took about a year cause it stay comfortable sleeping untouched inside my note for most of the time. In the end the only thing I regret is the face of the guy most above... It doesn't look very right .... but here it is. So feel free to critique or comment on it
Also I finally find a way to overcome my scanner. Gimp! It does miracle to correct what my scanner spoil.
